How to write a good blog post somehow has become a mystery, something that only gurus know how to do. There is so much misinformation out there, from keyword research to copywriting, that is certainly understandable why there is so much confusion.

Here is the truth, at least what I believe it’s the truth. ANYONE can write a good, actually great, blog post as long as they put their passion, their heart and knowledge in it.

A blog post is nothing but a written way to express yourself. Throughout the years marketers have transformed into a science, more like a strategy to make money. Now, don’t get me wrong I am all down to making money, but the less natural a blog post is, the less authentic it sounds, the less effective it will be.

The idea of writing a blog post came to me when I was a teenager. It was a way of bringing what was inside, somehow trapped, out. I actually didn’t have access to the internet, and for sure, at the age of 15 (16 years ago… ouch… did I just aged myself!?) I didn’t know of Blogger or WP (did they exist back then?). So I would get a little piece of paper and write away.

My favorite thing to write was Spanish dark poetry (I was still living in Ecuador and Spanish was my main language) and I would stay up for hours at night putting my feelings, my thoughts, my vision of life on paper. When I turned 18 and I came to the States I found Blogger and I starting writing there.

The way I write now has changed dramatically, and maybe I should go back to the basics…

…to the heart and soul posts that somehow are not only written words but little pieces of myself.

I am not exactly sure what kind of traffic or audience they would have but I am sure that most people who actually read the posts would be willing to come back only because they are able to see the true me.

We learn new things everyday in life, but sometimes, sticking to the basics is the best thing to do. Maybe tomorrow I will learn how to combine the new things and the basics and make the best of both worlds.

Ok, I have been doing SEO for the longest and while I really love the geeky aspect of it, since it pretty much involves finding out what a computer, an algorithm likes or is looking for, I have been hit with the fact that Social Media, especially Facebook marketing might just be the new Google.

Like a month ago I watched a webinar about Facebook PPC, where this lady, Michelle Pescosolido, a very well regarded marketer in FB, was teaching how she built her business empire. For me the whole thing is so interesting because Facebook makes you go back to the basics. Connect with others, offer good, more like excellent customer service, and get more referrals. Makes sense right?

So why is it so hard for me and probably many others to market on Facebook?

I believe it is because we are used to the old marketing style where you put something out and you expect something in return immediately, we don’t want to have to go through the relationship part of it, which is what makes people on Facebook so successful.

After the webinar I started looking a lot more deeply into Facebook marketing and I actually purchased 2 books. One is The Like Economy and the other on is Likable. I started reading The Like Economy and I am glued to it (I had to unglue myself to write this post lol). I am eager to learn, to find a better way, to find the Facebook way, because I think that Facebook may soon outrank Google.

I am going to keep this post very short, because I want to go back to the book. When I am finished with it I will share some more. However, the one thing I have learned so far is that building a relationship is the most powerful form of advertisement. It may not bring you a revenue right away, but the ramification of a well founded and maintained relationship will help you build a very loyal and self expanding (thru referrals) customer base.

How To Be Found On Google – Google’s #1 Page

If you are wondering how to be found on Googleyou need to read this article. What you are really looking for is SEO or Search Engine Optimization.

Ok, so I am assuming that you have a site, or a page/post that you would like people find when they are searching for a certain keyword or phrase in Google, right?

So you wonder how to be found on Google?

The answer is pretty simple, yet the process is not THAT simple. But here it is.

Like I had said, you are looking at Search Engine Optimization and here is a brief summary on how you go about this.

First of all, there are 2 kinds of factors when it comes to SEO.

• On-page SEO Factors
• Off-page SEO Factors

The on-page factors are things that you can do when writing your article in order to tell Google exactly what your article is about and what keyword or key-phrase you would like to show up under. I will use this article for example.

The most commonly known On-Page SEO Factors are:

• Title
• URL
• Description
• Keyoword / Tags
• Introduction and Conclusion Paragraph
• H1, H2, and H3 tags
• Image Alt tag
• Decoration tags (bold, underline, italics)
• Keyword Density

Now what does this all mean? It just means that you need to have your keyword or phrase in all these places. So, coming back to my example.

You can see that my title is: How To Be Found On Google, and if you you pay close attention you will see that the same phrase is in all the above on-page factors.

By doing this I am telling Google that I want to rank for How To Be Found On Google.

At the beginning the whole process looks hard, but in reality is very simple, plus I actually use a plugin that makes it super easy to do and that helps me getting ranked within the first page of Google at least 50% of the time (if I choose the right keyword)

After you are done with the on-page factors you need to start creating backlinks to your site. And this is where SEO becomes tricky. How old and how much authority your site has, is going to determine the right amount and quality of backlinks.

For example if you have a brand new site your best strategy is to create backlinks to the backlinks and only allow high authority sites (Squidoo, Hubpages, Youtube, Ezine Articles, Empower Network) to link directly.

Now, if you have an already established site then you can use direct links from all kinds of places. Try to stay within a believable range. One note here. It’s better to get few high quality links than tons of poor quality ones. However, if you can’t get the high quality ones, then low quality is better than nothing.

Youtube Marketing – How To Get 38 Free Leads Per Day

Yesterday night MLSP held their weekly webinar and this time it was about Youtube Marketing. Although I have been involved in video making, and most of my sales come from videos, I never really thought of making it my main source of advertisement. Maybe I will change that in the future. Maybe I will change that starting today.

The webinar was held by Dwayne Pyle an L4 in My Lead System Pro and he basically showed the way he has been able to rank number 1 or 2 in Youtube for very competitive keywords such as “MLM” and “MLM Recruiting“. During the training he logged in LIVE into his Aweber account and he had already gotten 38 free leads from his videos for 1 day. Now that is pretty powerful!

I guess since Youtube is owned by Google it goes by very similar standards as regular sites, so what he taught in his Youtube Marketing traning was to use On-Video Optimization. If you are familiar with SEO, it would be the same you do with your articles and blog post, but with your video

Youtube Marketing

Here are the main pointers:

Get a keyword that has decent traffic. Remember when you look at traffic in Google’s keyword tool you are looking at Google’s traffic, not Youtube’s traffic. However it is safe to assume that if there are a bunch of searches in google there are going to be a lot of searches in Youtube.

Make your video. Try to keep it candid, concise and valuable. There is no reason to create junk videos.

When posting your video on Youtube make sure that:

• You add your keyword to the title,
• You add you keyword to the description
• You add your keyword, plus another 5 to 10 keywords to your tags.
• You add a link to a capture page AND a link to your blog. No you are not going to get penalized if you put two links

After you article is optimized start creating backlinks to it. Use Onlywire, TribePro, Ping.fm. AMR, SenukeX, Unique Article Wizard,… whatever you have to blast backlinks to it. Here is the thing, while I don’t suggest that you BLAST backlinks to your site, doing it in Youtube is no problem because by being the #3 site ranked in Alexa it already get MILLIONS of backlinks per day, so it’s not big deal if you send a couple of hundred or thousand… I doubt that it will get banned.

And that was it. Dwayne Pyle’s strategy is straight to the point and I am loving it! If you are still afraid or the camera, then don’t worry about filming yourself create a small presentation and read it while you flip the pages. Yes, I know… even that is a bit scary when you are not used to making videos, but Youtube Marketing is my BEST converting strategy and now that I know a little bit more about it I am going to go full force with it.

I have 5 minutes before I have to go to work and I just wanted to write a little blog post, so I started looking for keywords in Google Keyword Tool and I couldn’t find anything that was appealing. I guess I am not in the mood to write something targeted or technical. Well after a couple of minutes I decided to write about something that has been bothering me.

Work From Home

We are all internet marketers right? Or at least we are working to be marketers. Well within the last month I have gotten a few request or questions where people who are following me no longer want advice or learn how to do something, they want me to do it for them! They complain that they are not getting results and they ask me: “can you do it for me….” Answer: NO..!

Have you ever had people who ask you for the summary of a conference call or a webinar because they weren’t able to attend even though there is a recorded version of it? And they ask you to tell them what it was about because it was late and they had to go to sleep?! Or they told you to get that link or that payment, or that blog, or that video, or that picture posted for them because they can’t do it?

I am all down for helping each other, but helping doesn’t mean I am going to be doing it for you! I am so sorry. This comes hand in hand with an email that Staci Gauny sent yesterday… the one that talks about people who send you a message saying… Thank you for your leadership, I want to join you and I really want to start making money but I have very little money to start with and no time, but if you can help me I really want it badly. Have you gotten those?

Seriously people. That conference call that was late for you, was late for me too and I took the time to listen to it, and if I missed anything I went back to the recording and watch it or listened to it again. I am not going to be lazy and ask others for the summary because I was catching zzz. Come on!

And “…do it for me, I have worked all day I will talk to you tomorrow…” What do you think I have been doing?!

So why am I going through this rant? Well, because I think that the problem with most people who get into the work from home arena see the “from home” part and are blind to the WORK. Like Rob Fore says, in order to succeed you need to put the WORK back in to the work from home equation, there is no question about it and YES, it is going to be hard, and yes you are going to have sleepless nights, and yes, you are going to be tired. But how bad do you really want it!?

It’ a mental state. Working 40+ hours a week to make someone else’s dreams come true is NOT my goal in life. The more I do now, the quicker I will reach my goals. There is no doubt in my mind that I will make it happen and that I will achieve my goals and dreams, but I am ready to WORK for them, to give it my 200% and yes it’s not going to be easy and I am going to be tired at the end of the day, but there is light at the end of the tunnel and I can’t wait to see it clearly!
